Library in march 2002, highland beach voters approved a referendum to build a new library in the rear of the town hall complex, next to the intracoastal waterway. The new library is 10 times larger than the old one, and provides patrons with even more choices and variety in the latest reading materials, periodicals, videos, and dvds. The town provides general municipal services such as police protection and a library, as well as water and wastewater utility service. The town also provides, through contract, fire protection, code enforcement, building inspection, solid waste, and postal services.
